ArchTones

Equally at home in a jazz club, blues bar, rock hall, or concert venue, Archie and the ArchTones are a splendid musical vehicle piloted by the talented Archie Thompson on piano, saxophone, and vocals. Traditional in the classic piano trio format, they explore music from Frank Sinatra to Foofighters; from Ramsey Lewis to Huey Lewis. Soulful interpretations of the most popular songs of all time, are presented with clever arrangements, and a hard swinging groove!

Archie’s piano playing has been described as rollicking, powerful, and inventive. His tenor sax is at times lucid, at times bluesy and fierce, while his understated vocals are cool and unpretentious. Featuring a tight, dynamic rhythm section consisting of Jason Littlefield on upright bass, and Brian “Nucci” Cantrell on drums, The ArchTones are spontaneous, highly improvisational, and last but not least–very entertaining. Archie and the ArchTones connect with Baby-Boomers, Generation X-ers, jazz-buffs, and anyone who appreciates great musicians playing great songs.
